Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2020

Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2020 absolutely zings with freshness and energy.
This has a ‘Riesling like’ singularity of focus but slightly more fruity flesh courtesy of the 80% Sauvignon 20% Semillon mix.
It has spent 4 months on lees for texture but the vibe here is citrus, clean lines and verve.
Cape Mentelle Estate grown fruit picked at optimum ripeness delivers the goods. Pretty much guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Cape Mentelle Brooks Chardonnay 2019 and 2020

Great to taste back to back vintages of capementelle Brooks Chardonnay 2019 and 2020.
Both are on the complex end of the Chardonnay spectrum with hints of oak and biscuity yeast influence. There’s texture and tannin along with lime and pear fruit flavours.
Winemaker Ben Cane, talks about the importance of “richness and minerality “ in Margaret River Chardonnay. Both wines finish crisp and dry.
Grapes for the 2020 were picked a whole month earlier than for the 2019 reflecting different vintage conditions. ️
The 2020 Cape Mentelle Brooks Chardonnay is my pick for the extra purity and freshness. Much like the 2020 Sauvignon Semillon !
