By Fergal Gleeson

Rosily Vines in the Wilyabrup district of Margaret River, Western Australia

Margaret River’s Rosily Vineyard continues its tradition of crafting exceptional, value-driven wines with it’s latest releases. All are priced between $25–$28, sourced from approximately c, 30-year-old vines, and reflect the vineyard’s single-vineyard integrity.

Winemaker Profile: Mike Lemmes

Heading up winemaking at Rosily is Mike Lemmes, who partners with viticulturist Sam Castleden to bring out the best in their Wilyabrup site. Rosily is a family-owned, single-vineyard estate spanning about 12hectares, where all fruit is estate-grown and processed on-site.

After trials and conversion, Rosily achieved Australian Certified Organic (ACO) status starting with the 2019 vintage; prior steps in the transition began as early as 2012.

The Rosily approach is expressive, terroir-driven, that consistently exceed expectations for their modest price. Their Semillon–Sauvignon Blanc blend, for instance, has been produced in a similar style since 2000 and remains a standout in the region.

Highlights from the 2025 Release Series

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2025 – RRP $25

A nearly equal blend that’s pale and delicate in appearance. The wine opens with tropical Sauvignon Blanc aromas, leading into a vibrant palate of green apple, passionfruit, and lime, striking a fine balance between ripe fruit and a tangy citrus finish.

Gros Ventre Grenache–Shiraz Rosé 2025 – RRP $25

A trophy-winning wine at the recent Australian Single Vineyard Wine Show, this Grenache-driven rosé offers wild strawberry and crunchy red fruits, complemented by a creamy texture and a subtle herbal undertone from the Shiraz component. It finishes with a racy, refreshing lift.

Merlot 2023 – RRP $28

A true value proposition: grown on red clay soils ideal for Merlot and blended with Cabernet Franc and Shiraz, this wine presents plum and cherry characters, with fine clay tannins and a savoury, lifted finish—far more impressive than its price suggests.
